lisa weight loss success

Two years after my lap band surgery, I have lost 100 pounds, hitting my goal weight. I have more energy and my self-esteem has skyrocketed. I no longer need meds for hypertension or depression and my obstructive sleep apnea has greatly improved. Being a teacher and standing nearly all day long, my back, legs, knees, and feet ached all the time. Now I can stand for much longer periods of time without discomfort and can even wear cute shoes again. Before surgery, climbing a simple flight of stairs caused me to be out of breath, huffing and puffing like I’d run a marathon; since losing the weight, climbing stairs is no big deal. I even climbed the 284 steps to the top of the Arc de Triomphe on a recent trip to Paris – something I would never have been able to do before surgery.

Trust me, weight loss surgery is no easy fix – you still must make lifestyle changes and give up things you like, but it is a tool that helps making the right choices easier, if you are ready to make those choices. Dr. Gorjala understands my struggles and has been very supportive throughout this journey. He is honest and straightforward as well as compassionate and caring. He cheers my successes and pulls no punches when I need to be redirected to the right path. I would recommend Dr. Gorjala and his great staff to anyone who is considering lap band surgery. It’s the best decision I ever made.
